Now on the outside this looks like a good sized ship. Not something you'd take out to the lake for some fun. The inside is a different story.

This is the reason my mom didn't want to go on the tour. There are several of these little hatches down the length of the sub. They are a mere 30 inches or 76 centimeters across and as you can see, pretty low to the ground. They certainly take some practice to get through.
This is a picture i took of the officer's cabin while standing in it's doorway. Pretty cozy. The bench on the far wall doubles as 4 bunks when it's not being used as the dining room.
Right across the hall is the sonar room filled with the best Soviet Naval technology 1972 had to offer.
